Germany and Algeria establish hydrogen task force
Germany will support Algeria in developing its hydrogen infrastructure and production in the future. The Algerian-German Hydrogen Task Force was established for this purpose. Together, they will create the framework conditions for the production, storage and transport of green hydrogen.
This hydrogen will later be imported to Germany via a gas pipeline. Algeria has set itself the goal of supplying 10% of the EU's hydrogen demand.

About the Partnership:
German-Algerian Energy Partnership
Algeria and Germany have decided in 2015 to intensify their bilateral energy cooperation, so as to promote the use of renewable energy sources and the improvement of energy efficiency in industry. We facilitate high-level political dialogue, exchange of good practices, technical advice and business meetings - and communicate about the energy transition.
(...) Germany and the EU are in position as potential buyers of green hydrogen. The task now is to create the necessary technical and economic conditions for hydrogen deliveries between Algeria and Europe.
