29th United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP29)
The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP) is the largest of its kind in the world. Each year it attracts some 85,000 participants, including more than 150 heads of state and government, as well as representatives of national delegations, civil society, business, indigenous peoples, youth, philanthropy and international organisations. The previous edition (COP28) was held in Dubai and made significant progress towards global climate goals.
In 2024, the next edition, COP29, will be hel in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 11 to 22 November 2024.
The COP28 Presidency and the incoming Presidency will engage Parties throughout the year at ministerial, heads of delegation and technical levels, as appropriate, to lay the groundwork for a successful COP29.
